Philosophy Statement

Right At Home Daycare

At Right at Home Daycare, we welcome children of all abilities and are dedicated to creating an
environment that embraces the unique needs of all children and families; including those with special
healthcare needs or disabilities. We have designed our policies and practices to ensure that every child
feels welcomed and supported as they embark on their learning journey with us. To cater to each child’s
individual needs, we employ a range of personalized approaches that are tailored to their specific
requirements.
We work closely with parents/guardians to gain a deep understanding of each child’s strengths,
interests and challenges; allowing us to craft individualized plans that provide the necessary support for
their child’s development. This consists of us including activities that are developmentally appropriate
and reflect each child’s interests. When collaborating with professionals such as speech therapists,
physical therapists and other specialists, we adhere to meticulous procedures to ensure seamless
teamwork. We highly value the expertise of these professionals and actively integrate their
recommendations and strategies into our daily activities to enhance the overall learning experience for the
children.
As active team members, we engage in the IFSP or IEP process, working collaboratively to
implement modifications and accommodations that cater to the unique needs of children with special
healthcare needs and disabilities. We understand the significance of creating a comprehensive support
network that encompasses the family, professionals, and our staff to address all aspects of a child’s
development effectively.

Our staff undergoes specialized training that enables them to better understand and support
diverse populations of children, including those with special healthcare needs or disabilities. This training
equips our team with the essential knowledge and skills to facilitate an inclusive and nurturing
environment for all children. We are equipped with specialized equipment and resources that facilitate the
active participation of children with special needs, ensuring that they have access to the necessary tools
and support to fully engage in our program and activities. When viewed through the eyes of a parent
whose child has special health care needs or a disability, our inclusion policies embrace welcoming and
reassuring language. We aim to instill confidence in families by demonstrating our unwavering
commitment to partnering with them and meeting their child’s individual needs.
Our policies underscore our proactive approach to welcoming all children into our program,
showcasing our collaborative and individualized support for each child’s unique journey. We are fully
committed to partnering with families to ensure that their child’s experience is enriching, inclusive and
tailored to their specific needs.
Parents play an integral part in adding insight about their primary language and background of
their family. This allows us to add to and enhance our curriculum so that each child feels a sense of
belonging; and is able to share their cultural background and language with other children and families in
our diverse community
